_*DC Shopian reviews arrangements for Celebration of I-Day, 2023*_SHOPIAN, JULY 19: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today convened a meeting of Officers to review arrangements to be put in place by different departments for celebration of Independence Day, 2023.During the meeting, DPL Shopian was decided as the main venue where the Tricolour will be hoisted by the chief guest followed by the March Past which will be presented by contingents from District Police, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and NSS cadets.Threadbare discussion was held with regard to the security arrangements, traffic regulation, seating arrangements, Full Dress Rehearsal, decoration, PAS, cultural activities, power and water supply, transport arrangements, sanitation, Medicare facilities, invitation cards, barricading, participation etc. at the venue of function.The DC directed all officers to make fool-proof arrangements at all levels in advance for the National event to make it a great success.He instructed the Officers to ensure all related arrangements are made well in advance and work in close coordination for the smooth and impactful conduct of Independence Day celebrations across the district.The meeting was attended by ADC, Yar Ali Khan, DPO, ACD, ACR CEO, CMO, ACP, ASP and other district and sectoral officers of the district.

He also explained the welfare schemes currently run by the JKBOCWWB for the welfare of the construction workers.ALC also informed that 11000 construction workers are active in the district till date and stressed for online registration instead of visiting offices to save their precious time. He enlightened the participants about the welfare schemes of JKBOCWWB, both presently active and those planned to be implemented in the next financial year.On the occasion, Dr. Nida Yousuf, ALC, JKBOCWWB, apprised the participants about several upcoming enhancements to the welfare schemes, including an increase in the rate of scholarships for various classes.She also apprised them about the special scholarship of Rs. 50,000 for the wards of registered BOC workers who secure 90% and above marks in 10th and 12th class.Furthermore, she discussed the re-induction of marriage assistance, emphasizing the importance of registration for construction workers to avail themselves of the benefits offered by the welfare schemes for the betterment of their livelihoods.Addressing the concerns of the participants, she assured them that the pending cases of various assistance requests in the board would be cleared as soon as possible.Today, Education assistance was also released in favour of 997 beneficiaries through DBT mode.The programme was also attended by the staff members of the Labour Department, workers and other concerned.
